3 Day Dales Pony Experiences

This is a three day package, but if you want to stay longer we can put a bespoke package together for you. Each day includes all refreshments and a picnic. We can accommodate visiting horses, so if you want to come with someone who has a horse - or you fancy all this but with your own horse, please contact us. Here's a guide to what we might do...

Day 1 - Meet the ponies and a Woodland Picnic

After our human introductions we'll hang out with The Herd for the morning. You'll learn all about the Dales pony breed and of course find out all about the members of The Herd - the different personalities and characters. After refreshments we'll groom the ponies and prepare them for our adventure for the day - a roam and explore around the beautiful John Clare countryside that surrounds us and off into the woods. There are so many bridleways and trails to choose from and lots of opportunity to vary the type of ride to suit you. We'll enjoy a picnic in the middle of the woods where the ponies can stop, enjoy some grass and just hang out - a very important part of the day!) We'll continue with our trek in and around the woods before returning back home.

Day 2 Water Fun at the Fords

This is the ponies' playground - let them take you for a fun day of water and laughter -This day trek will take us through the picturesque villages of Castor and Ailsworth and onto Ferry Meadows Country Park, riding next to the beautiful River Nene. Mid way we'll stop and play in the water at Mill lane fords/Alwalton meadows - a safe stretch of water where the ponies love soaking themselves (and their riders!) in. The fords are surrounding by peaceful meadows that can be galloped or walked around - both equally as enjoyable. We'll stop here for our picnic with a long, peaceful meander back home

 Lunch at the Pub

Our third and final day is spent riding around the picturesque John Clare villages over to The Bertie Arms Pub in Uffington where we will have lunch. There's plenty of opportunities for cantering or a gallop if you fancy - or we can just meander and enjoy the views. When we return we can take the ponies for a swim in the lake if you fancy a dip!

Making it Extra Special...

If you need accommodation you can of course stay in one of the local villages - we can help with this, but if you really want to immerse yourself into the ponies' world come stay onsite in one of The Nest Glamping Safari Lodges where the ponies are literally next door. Each Lodge sleeps up to 6 people. You will be guaranteed an extra special and luxurious break with wild swimming, a log burner and even a hot tub (subject to additional cost and availability) - check out The Nest Glamping  for more information. The extra bonus about staying at The Nest is you get to take the ponies swimming in the lake - such an amazing opportunity, we just love it...and so do the ponies! You can of course bring non riding family/friends who can go off and explore Stamford and the local countryside whilst you ride!

If you are an individual but would love a luxury safari camp stay you will be able to book on a group holiday - dates to be released.
